The Roanoke Writers Conference returns with a vengeance in 2024! We've got presentations for writers of all levels, from "I have an idea, now what?" to "I wrote a book, now what?" We're open to all genres and publishing methods, and we've got hands-on demonstrations to help write with authenticity. We've got vendors, food trucks, local author readings and signings, and even a Mid-Modern art exhibit! Registration is free this year, and we have the entire library to ourselves! Literary SoulFEST 2024 is approaching quickly! It will take place on Sunday, November 3rd in Desoto, Texas. Literary SoulFEST has been celebrating literacy and literary arts while emphasizing the significance of freedom of expression since 2008. At its core, Literary SoulFEST aims to honor the triumph over two forms of literacy that were once punishable by law—mastery of letters and the mastery of the drum.

The event aims to unite heritage, culture, and the power of words to inform and inspire attendees as the country ends election weekend activities and prepares for election day. With a lineup of talented authors, poets, and speakers, Literary SoulFEST guarantees a fantastic experience for bookworms and culture enthusiasts.

Welcome to the Trinity River Book Festival (TRBF), a magnificent multicultural event established in 2022 and held during National Literacy Month. Our professional team at TRBF is dedicated to engaging readers, supporting authors, and cultivating new readership while showcasing the literary heritage of Fort Worth, Dallas, Mid-cities and beyond, and highlighting the literary interests of current residents and visitors. 

With a focus on integrating a healthy lifestyle alongside festivities, we kick off the festival with the invigorating Run-to-Read, featuring a 5K race and a 1-mile fun run. This unique experience combines the love for literature with physical well-being, creating an energizing atmosphere. TRBF is structured to inspire, entertain, inform, and empower individuals, families, and communities alike. With a diverse range of panels and discussions covering various topics, attendees can expect an enlightening and enriching experience at our festival. Soul of Sycamore Juneteenth Culture, Music, & Art Festival

Presenting poetry, authors, and community conversation.

• 3:45 pm: Community Conversation on “What does freedom look like?”

A free poetry festival open to all that will include classes on craft and getting published, readings by distinguished poets (Pushcart winner and a poet laureate of Corpus Cristi), open mic, children poetry, and the Dallas Shakespeare Company. Co-sponsored by the Fort Worth Poetry Society and the Grapevine Public Library.

The DFW Poetry Fest is an annual celebration of the many poets who are writing and publishing in the DFW metroplex. Join us in the backyard of The Wild Detectives on June 1st from 6:00-9:00pm. Our new Dallas Poet Laureate, Mag Gabbert, will kick off the reading.
